L'Etat congolais veut remettre à plat les contrats miniers conclus par les régimes précédents
Attendu depuis plusieurs mois, objet de fuites dans la presse locale, le rapport de la Commission (interministérielle) de revisitation des contrats miniers a été publié, jeudi 20 mars, par le gouvernement. Au fil de ses 500 pages, le document préconise de revoir des dizaines de contrats miniers conclus depuis les années 1990 par Kinshasa avec des firmes privées, dans des conditions souvent opaques. Celles-ci, selon le gouvernement, ont "gagné beaucoup d'argent sans que le Congo en profite".

Camec plc - Raises Stake in Katanga Mining to 22%
Central African Mining and Exploration Company Plc, the AIM quoted fully integrated exploration, mining, trading and investment company, is pleased to announce that, further to its April 27, 2007 and May 4, 2007 news releases, it has completed the purchase of a total of 9,917,800 common shares (the 'Purchased Shares') of Canadian listed Katanga Mining Limited ('Katanga'). CAMEC now owns a total of 17,175,130 common shares of Katanga which, based on publicly available information, represent 22% of the currently outstanding common shares of Katanga.
